The summer
The season is widely acknowledged as a pleasant time to visit Ladakh. Temperatures range between 15 and 30°C from June to September, making it pleasant and comfortable for visitors to explore the region. Winters in Ladakh are harsh, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to well below 0°C, reaching up to -30°C, making the region uninviting to visitors.
There are many beautiful places and sites to visit, including Lamayuru, Tso Moriri Lake, DhaHanu, Zorawar Fort, Magnetic Hill, Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso Lake, and others. The beauty of the picturesque places and sites leaves everlasting memories that one remembers for the rest of one’s life.

Things to do in Leh Ladakh
The markets of Leh Ladakh are ideal for a leisurely stroll. Tibetan handicrafts and wares, silver and stone jewellery, Pashmina shawls, woollens, and other items are available. Ladakh has a number of well-known markets. Visitors can shop at Main Bazaar, which sells a variety of handicrafts, antiques, and Ladakhi jewellery. A Tibetan handicraft emporium can also be found on Main Bazaar Road.
The Dalai Lama Charitable Trust handicraft emporium sells art and craft materials created by local artisans. Shawls, woollens, paintings, handicrafts, and artefacts are also on display for connoisseurs. The Moti market is also well-known for its ethnic items. Those who enjoy apricots can go to Ladag Apricot Store.
Trekking is an option for those with an adventurous spirit. There are several trekking options available, including Chadar Trek and Markha Valley Trek. The Markha Valley Trek allows you to discover the splendour of Gandola La and Hemis National Park. This trek is best done between the months of May and September.
Then there’s the Stok Kangri Trek, which is considered the most difficult trek because it requires trekkers to climb to the highest peak in the region. Camping enthusiasts can visit Camel Resort Camp, Camp Water Mark, Bikamp in Leh, and Nature’s Nest Camp in Pangong Lake.
One can also engage in rock climbing, which will add more adventure to one’s visit because the sport requires both mental and physical presence. Ice hockey is one of the most popular sports that people enjoy. There are a number of campgrounds that provide this type of activity. If you enjoy water sports, you can go river rafting on the Indus and Zanskar rivers.
Another exciting adventure in Nubra Valley is quad biking. ATV rides are available in the most remote motorable areas. There are several beautiful places to visit, including Lamayuru, Tso Moriri Lake, DhaHanu, Zorawar Fort, Magnetic Hill, and Nubra Valley.
Best time to visit Ladakh
The summer season is more convenient for visiting Ladakh. Summer months from June to September provide tourists with a relaxing environment. Temperatures range from 15 to 30°C during these months. These months have tolerable weather, allowing tourists to comfortably explore the magnificent location.
Winter, on the other hand, is difficult for visitors. Winter temperatures range from 0 to -15°C, with gusts reaching -30°C. Summers are a boon to tourists because they allow them to observe and participate in a variety of festivals such as the Hemis festival, Yurukabgyat festival, and Sakadawa festival.
